Aging

I admire women who have gone through lives journey, learned wisdom on their way and are happy with what they have achieved and accomplished. I do understand that to get to this stage is not always in our control, or is it? Everyones life is and has been different. Everyone had a different start, born to different parents, born into different circumstances. But no matter what the background has been, some women (and men) have overcome difficulties and learned on their journey to be content with their life now. It is a beautiful inner peace that we all want, but only few achieve. The photo above reminds me of beauty, content, calm and peace. Something I want to work towards. I moved a lot in my 65 years, but not as many others have. I lived in Germany, England, New Zealand and now America (Utah). All countries have their pros and cons. My 11 year old granddaughter once asked me “Omi (German for grandma), what would you like to be remembered for?” Very good question for an 11 year old girl to ask. I said something, but later on I thought more about it. What do I want to be remembered by? That I have been a good person? What does that mean? That I have done good in the world? That I have been helpful? Maybe all of them, but mostly to be known for having lived a life to the full. Having learned from life experiences. Being honest is important to me. At the end I want to feel that I have contributed to society. That somewhere along my journey I was helpful and made a different. Here goes for womanhood and all that we have done and achieved. Life is a journey and we are in control.
